The F1 H2O inshore world series, the most exciting and most watched marine motorsport series in the world, after 30 years of oil burning two stroke outboard engines, will now have the very latest in high efficiency four-stroke propulsion technology.

Working with the organisers, Idea Marketing, the controlling body, the UIM and experts in the Formula one field including current Formula one teams, Caudwell Marines' group of dedicated engineers have pulled out all the stops to bring a world beating four stroke racing drive to the sport.

Married to the remarkable handling qualities of the Caudwell Marine™ Axis drive, the new Formula one power-plant develops 400 brake horse power and over 400 Newton metres of torque.

This phenomenal power comes courtesy of Caudwell Marines race bred 24 valve 3.5 litre V6 engine and it delivers the power to the surface piercing propeller through a step up gear train, designed and produced by the worlds leading racing gearbox manufacturer, XTRAC, (Xtrac logo) to spin the propeller up to 10 000 RPM.

With the same finish weight as a 2,5 litre 2 stroke boat, all this means incredible acceleration and the flat torque curve keeps the boat right in the sweet spot.

Thanks to Caudwell Marine™ and the vision and cooperation of the UIM, Formula one four-stroke powered boats are equipped with a friction clutch and launch control, enabling a rocket like start.

Great attention has been given to weight reduction and the dry sump oil system, as well as the raw water, engine, oil and hydraulic cooling ensure stable temperatures and pressures in the high G, high stressed world of Formula 1

The phenomenal top end performance is there due to the howling power and the carefully designed low drag gear-case which has been maximised for gear strength and durability.

The patented turn and trim geometry acts much like an anti-roll bar as found on high performance race cars.

The low centre of gravity coupled with this unique turn and trim geometry are a huge boost to safety and handling, allowing razor sharp turning.

The bespoke variable trim rate system allows for different pilots driving styles and the sometimes unique handling characteristics of different boats.

Both trim up and trim down rates are adjustable as is the overall travel of the trim system - unique to Caudwell Marine.

The integrated hydraulic power steering system delivers very accurate and predictable handling while allowing the pilot superb feel - and everything is at the driver's fingertips.

All Caudwell Marine™ Formula one AXIS DRIVE systems come complete with instrumentation and data logging installation in an easy to read and install display panel.

Come race day - nothing else matters as much as performance and reliability. Extensive testing and a quick change out design will ensure that teams spend time racing, not in the paddock or stuck out on the water.

The Caudwell Marine™ AXIS DRIVE Formula one is the only four-stroke racing drive that installs as a complete and single unit - with plug and play ancillaries - and this means a complete installation can be changed within 20 minutes.
